From a very young age, the foundations of character and behaviour are built upon what a child observes and absorbs from its environment. An Islamic learning environment cultures children and practically demonstrates, that Islam is a way of life we adopt everyday and not something just practiced once in a while or at the Mosque. Integrating Islam into a child’s life is vital in helping him/her to be conscious of the responsibility to Allah (SWT) and exemplify Islam in their actions. The value of academia and higher education should also not be understated. Islam encourages people to pursue academic professions and gain skills which can be used to make a valuable contribution for the advancement of the Muslim Community and betterment of Society in general. Clearly the best summary for this subject is the saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who said: "Of all that a father can give his children, the best is their good education and training" [Hadith: At-Tirmidhi] |
